Drawing on her research, Fatima AlZahra’a Alatraktchi shows how even the smallest organisms struggle with cooperation, communication, survival and conflict – just as we humans do. Her personal story is interwoven with the story of the secret life of bacteria.

Fatima AlZahra’a Alatraktchi is an associate professor of translational biomedicine at Roskilde University and the author of the book Besat af bakterier (2026).
