Mændenes internationale dag 2026
What does it mean to be a man right now? Join us for an evening of talks, insights, personal stories, stand-up, music and a Thursday bar, and help celebrate Mændenes Internationale Dag on 19 November!
Old ideas about men’s lives are shifting. Work and ambition. Fatherhood and caring. The body and how you’re supposed to look. Strength, vulnerability and who you really need to be to be a man in the right way.
On Mændenes Internationale Dag, KVINFO and Dansk Mandesamfund don’t want to spend the evening on everything that’s wrong with men. We’re more curious about what happens when there are more ways to be a man.
What’s worth holding on to? What can we let go of? And what could take its place?
The evening is hosted by Adrian Busk, and you’ll have the chance to meet, among others, Kåre Quist, Abdel Aziz Mahmoud, Victor Boy Lindholm, Niels Ulrik Drescher, Mads Krause Hulbæk and Philip Rosenbaum.
Morten Wichmann will perform stand-up, and Hængemulen will fill the room with their distinctive mix of offbeat humour, melancholy and Danish-language songwriting.
We’ll round off the programme itself with a rousing speech and a look ahead: what stories about men do we really need now?
And of course, there’ll also be food and drinks. Feel free to arrive from 16:00, when we open the doors to the folk high school’s cosy courtyard and sell beer and soft drinks, with La Chica Mala serving award-winning Mexican street food. There’ll be a break during the event, and after the programme ends at 19:00, you’re welcome to stay for food, beer and a chat.
Bring a friend, your dad, your cousin, your son or a colleague along and join us for a thoughtful and festive afternoon!
