For centuries, citizens and the city authorities have had to prepare for wars, fires, sieges, epidemics and much more. Emergency preparedness and prepping have, in other words, been part of Copenhagen’s history.

On this tour of the archive’s closed stacks, we’ll explore sources on how crises and disasters have been handled in Copenhagen over the past 300 years. Some crises were so imminent that even the archive’s collections were at risk.
