Lav din egen julegave: Upcyclet porcelæn
Would you like to give a personal Christmas present this year? Here’s your chance: we’re repeating the popular workshop where we use paint markers to decorate second-hand porcelain, taking inspiration from porcelain several hundred years old.
Bring your friends, colleagues, children or grandparents along, and drop by Arkæologisk Værksted, where archaeological educators from Københavns Museum will show you porcelain and other pottery shards that archaeologists have dug up in Copenhagen. Inspired by genuine archaeological finds, you can transform second-hand cups, bowls and plates into colourful upcycled masterpieces with your own personal decorations – they just need a spell in the oven when you get home, and then they’re ready to go under the Christmas tree.
A museum educator will be on hand to guide you throughout.
Café Spirrevippen tempts you with mulled wine and homemade baked goods
As there are archaeological finds in the workshop, food and drink are not allowed. Instead, right next door at Københavns Museum, Café Spirrevippen tempts you with homemade baked goods, mulled wine and other treats before or after the event.
When
Saturdays and Sundays 21–22 November, 28–29 November and 5–6 December. You can attend the event between 10 am and 2 pm, but there will be a group introduction to the history of porcelain in its archaeological context at around 10.15 am.

Arkæologisk Værksted, Stormgade 20, 1555 København V (entrance from the corner of H. C. Andersens Boulevard).
Price: 150 kr per person, including 1 second-hand cup/plate/bowl, an introduction and use of paint markers. Additional second-hand porcelain can be purchased on the day: 30 kr per item.
