Bring your dreams and messages to life with needle and thread at the embroidery salon with artist Julie Andkjær Olsen at Kulturhuset Islands Brygge.

We meet whether or not we have any prior experience, experiment, gain experience and learn from one another. It’s not an old-fashioned sewing class, but rather a shared space for immersion, handicrafts and inspiration.

Practical information

Admission is 40 kr and includes fabric, yarn and a needle – and coffee if you bring your own cup. You’re welcome to bring your own embroidery and materials. The embroidery salon is for everyone, beginners and experienced embroiderers alike. Julie Andkjær Olsen works across many artistic fields, including as a musician, dancer and visual artist. In 2012, she published the book ’have og helvede’ with her sister, combining embroidery, collage and watercolour.
