Yoni Mayraz (UK)

Award-winning grooves, strong melodies and infectious energy. On 27 November, Yoni Mayraz visits KLEIN with his modern take on jazz, where hip-hop, electronic soundscapes and Middle Eastern influences come together in a vibrant and captivating live performance.

Doors: 20:00 Concert: 20:30 The London-based keyboardist and producer Yoni Mayraz moves freely between jazz, hip-hop, electronic soundscapes and Middle Eastern tonal colours. With his new album Dogs Bark Babies Cry, he explores a personal, rhythmic world where tight grooves meet improvisation, reflection and raw energy.

The album was recorded live over three days at the legendary Konk Studios in North London with bassist Tom Driessler and drummer Zoe Pascal, along with a number of special guests. The result is music with both weight and movement, inspired by 1970s jazz-funk, 1990s hip-hop and today's experimental jazz scene.

Following his breakthrough with Dybbuk Tse!, Mayraz has performed at the likes of Montreux Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Cafe and Brussels Jazz Festival. His music balances the melodic and the unpredictable, and in live performance the compositions become vibrant conversations between the musicians.

Yoni Mayraz is among the most exciting new voices on the international jazz scene, and his concerts are characterised by a sense of connection, dynamic interplay and a strong rhythmic drive
