Politigården, København
Rundvisning på Københavns Politigård
Step behind the walls of this building, normally closed to the public, which has been the headquarters of Copenhagen Police for over 100 years. Built between 1918 and 1924, it was designed by Hack Kampmann and is now regarded as a neoclassical masterpiece.
The guided tour offers stories about both architecture and history. Discover the iconic circular courtyard, the square courtyard now best known as the memorial courtyard, and the many long corridors with their fascinating details. All tours are led by current or former police officers.
The tour starts at the main entrance to Politigården facing Polititorvet.
Conditions:
All participants must be able to present valid photo ID (a driving licence or passport).
All participants must have a permanent address in Denmark.
Politigården is a listed building and is unfortunately not accessible to wheelchair users. The tour also involves a fair amount of walking, including stairs and corridors, so we do not recommend it for people with limited mobility.
Large bags or rucksacks are not permitted on the tour. Part of the tour takes place outdoors, and we recommend dressing appropriately for the season.
Københavns Politigård is the headquarters of Copenhagen Police, so situations may arise that require cancellation at short notice. We ask participants on guided tours of Københavns Politigård to respect Politigården as a workplace and behave appropriately.
