Rahbeks salon om Illiaden
At Rahbeks salon on Wednesday 9 December, 18:00–20:30 (doors open at 17:30 as always), the focus is on Homer's Illiaden!
During the autumn months, Rahbeks saloner at Vartov focus on the interplay between culture and nature, exploring a series of major works of European literature from this perspective. On 9 December, Sander Funch, who holds a master's degree in history and is known for Glyptoteket's popular podcast Mennesket i marmor, will be among those presenting Homer's other major work.
As always, Rahbeks saloner feature one or more speakers of the highest professional calibre, with exceptionally good company and plenty of questions from the audience. Refreshments, typically coffee, tea and water, are served before and during the salon, along with a glass of wine for social mingling. Folk poetry and communal singing from the folk high school songbook always bring a touch of magic to Rahbeks saloner.
As tradition has it, December lends a festive glow to the year's final salon, which will offer Christmas treats and a repertoire of Christmas songs from the folk high school songbook.
During the autumn months, each of Rahbeks saloner is followed by a meeting of our youth forum, AGORA, for participants under 30.
We look forward to seeing you!
