LOUI HENDERSON PLAYS PUMPEHUSET IN 2027

Things have moved quickly since Loui Henderson took his first steps as a solo artist. The former PAK frontman has found his own place in a short time, with big melodies, personal intensity and songs about that part of youth when freedom, doubt, falling in love and loss often exist side by side.

His debut single “Gør det hele forfra” made it onto both P3 and P4 and reached #9 on the Danish airplay chart, while “Før du siger farvel” became the first Uundgåelige of late summer on P3. Along the way, Loui Henderson was selected as one of five artists for P3’s Næste, and his collaboration with Mumle on “Ungdomsritualer” took him on tour, to Grøn Koncert and to Smukfest.

His debut EP “Nogen skal jo sige det højt” was released on 25 September and brings Loui Henderson’s songs together in a larger narrative for the first time. The EP centres on being young and trying to find direction while messing up, falling in love, losing people, holding on to others and gradually learning more about who you are.

That is also the story Loui Henderson will bring to the stage in 2027. Until now, audiences have seen him at festivals, among other places, and as part of Mumle’s tour; this time, the songs will have a setting of their own. From the immediate energy of “Gør det hele forfra” to the more vulnerable sides of “Før du siger farvel” and the EP’s title track, the concerts will be an encounter with the artist and songwriter who, in a short time, has drawn an ever-growing number of listeners.

Loui Henderson’s songs are not written from a place where all the answers are already known. Quite the opposite. On “Nogen skal jo sige det højt”, he is right in the middle of it all – between exhilaration and responsibility, old relationships and new beginnings – trying to put into words the things that can otherwise be difficult to say.

When Loui Henderson takes the lead on his first solo Denmark tour in March, it will not be with a stripped-back setup. Seven musicians will take to the stage – including two guitarists and a saxophone player – giving the songs a bigger, more vibrant sound than on the recordings. The full band will be a central part of Loui Henderson’s live show and will underline the ambitions for his first headline tour.
