DRUMATICS

Live West African drums. DJ. Dance. Movement. Connection. DRUMATICS is a live dance experience combining the raw energy of West African percussion with electronic music and facilitated movement.

Throughout the night, we move between live drumming, DJ sets, and the two coming together. At times, our dance facilitator will guide the room through movement and shared experiences. At others, the space is completely yours — to dance, explore, connect, let go, or simply be.

We want to create a different kind of night out.

So much of modern life asks us to consume — content, products, entertainment, even experiences. We want to create a space where you are not simply watching or consuming something, but are part of what is happening.

The boundary between audience and performer becomes less important. The music responds to the room. The room responds to the music. What happens is something we create together. We believe music and dance can bring us closer to ourselves and to each other. They can get us out of our heads and into our bodies. They can create moments where we feel fully present, fully engaged and fully alive.

DRUMATICS takes inspiration from conscious dance, ceremony, club culture and the ancient human instinct to gather around rhythm — without trying to be only one of those things.

We want to bring the presence and connection found in conscious gatherings into bigger spaces and onto bigger dance floors.

What to bring: Bring a water bottle — and whatever you need to feel comfortable moving, sweating and dancing.

Refreshments: Refreshments included.

Dressing room & lockers: A dressing room is available and the door can be locked with a code. Lockers are also available — bring your own padlock if you want to use one.
