Wyatt E. x Five The Hierophant
An international doom project returns with the first part of a double album. The music explores exile, myths and experimental soundscapes with guest musicians and new vocal tracks.Wyatt E.
After two years of work, the band returns with the first chapter of a planned double album, marking an ambitious new direction in their musical universe. The release builds on their earlier work and continues a thematic exploration of exile, history and mythical narratives through a contemporary, experimental doom sound.
The album brings together contributions from international collaborators and expands the soundscape with unconventional instruments and complex arrangements. Two drum kits were recorded simultaneously to create a more spacious and intense sound, while instruments such as saz, viola, sitar and bugle contribute to a varied and atmospheric sound.
For the first time, the project includes vocal tracks. An Iranian singer and a choir-led vocal contribution feature here, adding new layers to the instrumental foundations and emphasising the album’s narrative character.
The production has been brought together and refined by an experienced producer with ties to the modern doom and post-metal scene, uniting the many elements into a cohesive listening experience.
The project builds on the band’s previous releases and extensive touring across Europe and the Middle East, as well as their work on film and live projects, marking a new high point in their artistic development.
Five The Hierophant
For 10 years, the mysterious collective from Croydon in south London has practised musical hypnosis through a fascinating discography. With "Apeiron", Five The Hierophant have found the ultimate formula, tastefully and with a particular finesse weaving together the different elements that create this utterly distinctive sound.
Somewhere between doom, drone, jazz and post-metal, the music of Five The Hierophant is a true sonic adventure, elevated by Jon Roffey’s incomparable saxophone, which shapes musical landscapes like dark and meditative rituals.
