Marwan – P.E.R.K.E.R. – 20 års jubilæumskoncert

Marwan celebrates 20 years of an iconic album On 1 May 2027, it will be exactly 20 years since Marwan’s official solo debut album P.E.R.K.E.R. was released on Tabu Records.

The anniversary will be marked together with Tabu Records, which helped define what street rap would become nearly 20 years ago. The album produced tracks such as "Sten I Hans Hånd", "Min Blok" and "Selvgjort Velgjort" – and a new attitude, dramaturgy and street journalism were born in an instant.

Marwan is, quite simply, a genre-defining hip-hop artist and lyricist from Aarhus V, who has been writing, recording and releasing music for 25 years. His artistic expression combines the political, as a stateless Palestinian, the rawness of the ghetto blocks of western Aarhus and the melodic side of a western musical and pop-cultural heritage. His albums include landmark releases such as Mennesker, Marwan and Partisaner.

Alongside his own artistic work, Marwan has taken on a mentoring and A&R role for numerous young artists from western Aarhus. This has, among other things, resulted in numerous music releases by artists such as Baloosh, Dibset and Shooter Gang.

Over the past 25 years, Marwan has collaborated as a music artist with performers such as L.O.C., USO, Johnson, Tobias Rahim, Suspekt and many others. As a live performer, he has appeared at major festivals around the country, including Roskilde Festival, Smukfest and Copenhell.

Marwan’s lyrics are regularly studied at primary and secondary schools and universities, in the fields of new Danish literature and ghetto Danish.
