Lær at dogmestrikke – håndledsvarmere
Learn dogme knitting! Bring knitting needles in sizes 3-6 to the workshop.
We teach dogme knitting, a technique in which you knit with unprocessed raw wool, without carding or spinning. It is a completely natural, sustainable and simple process that produces beautiful knitwear.
In just a few steps, you go from unprocessed raw wool to holding a finished item in your hands. We knit with wool from Spælsau sheep from West Jutland, whose very long fibres make it possible to knit without any preparation.
At the workshop, you will learn dogme knitting and find out about wool, plant dyeing and wet felting. The price includes raw wool to make a pair of wrist warmers using a simple pattern. You can also choose to make a West Jutland shepherd’s waistcoat, a wrap-over waistcoat with a hood. If you choose this option, you can buy additional wool for DKK 195, giving you enough for the whole waistcoat.
You do not need to be good at knitting to attend the workshop, but it helps to know how to knit, purl and cast on. At Hedestrik, we would like to put the spotlight on all the Nordic wool that lies unused as a by-product on Nordic sheep farms. We will talk about wool from a climate perspective and the types of wool you can choose. We choose dogme knitting and free-form knitting as a counterpoint to the commercial world of yarn and knitting.

We look forward to it!
