Danish taxpayers contribute millions in aid every year. But where does the money go?
Olga Deutsch, Vice President of NGO Monitor, presents the findings of their latest investigation into Hamas’ systematic exploitation of the international humanitarian aid system, including declassified documents revealing how the terrorist organisation infiltrated, monitored and manipulated humanitarian organisations in Gaza.
Olga also examines the Danish government’s funding of NGOs active in the Israel–Palestine conflict. Which organisations receive Danish taxpayers’ money? What do these organisations stand for? How transparent is the government when it comes to the use of these public funds?
Olga will be joined by researcher Anaëlle Meyer.
Olga Deutsch is NGO Monitor’s incoming President and CEO. She is a globally sought-after expert with in-depth knowledge of international politics and relations between Europe and Israel.
Before joining NGO Monitor, Olga held several senior positions in the private sector in Europe and Israel. Her pro bono work included co-founding Europe Forum, a leading platform for bringing together civil society organisations in Israel and Europe, and she has also held a leadership role in the World Zionist Organization. After graduating from the University of Belgrade and the University of Munich in banking, insurance and finance, she studied at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York. Olga regularly writes for Israeli and international publications and frequently appears in the media as a commentator on humanitarian aid, NGO funding, international development, antisemitism after 7 October, efforts to delegitimise Israel, BDS and civil society.
Anaëlle Meyer is a researcher at NGO Monitor and an expert in NGO activities, funding and international law, with a particular focus on the Nordic countries. Before joining NGO Monitor, she worked at Israel’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, where she gained experience in multilateral diplomacy and international advocacy.
