In Gowan Ring + Adaya

Dreamlike folk with IN GOWAN RING and ADAYA at BETA. In Gowan Ring is a distinctive American folk project led by multi-instrumentalist B'ee, whose music moves between psychedelic folk, medieval traditions and an almost spiritual minimalism.

The project works with what they call “symbolist folk”, in which handmade instruments and the human voice create stories about nature, myths and the metaphysical.

The music draws on classic folk and psychedelic influences such as Incredible String Band and Nick Drake, while also incorporating elements of early European music, troubadour and Minnesinger traditions, and mystical poetry.

The result is a sound world characterised by distinctive harmonies and a dreamlike, almost ritual atmosphere, where the earthly and the transcendent intertwine.

Adaya creates evocative and poetic songs, with banjo and guitar providing the foundation for a personal and sensual sound.

Her music moves between the fragile and the powerful, and she is able to create moments that are both intimate and intense.

At the heart of her world are stories about the hidden layers of human experience—the bright and dark periods of life, and the inner strength found in everyone.
