De Dødes Dag – Cumbión de Muertos

Come and dance with death as we invite you to a Mexican party at Union. This year, we’re celebrating for two whole days with cumbia, mezcal, skulls and flowers.

We always celebrate De Dødes Dag here at Union, and in 2026 we’re expanding to a weekend edition: two evenings of cumbia rhythms, partying and togetherness!

Death is part of life. Yet we spend enormous amounts of energy resisting, fearing and suppressing it. Perhaps we should embrace it a little more – and try to understand why it stirs such strong emotions?

That’s what they do in Mexico, with music in full swing, every year at the beginning of November, when the living and the dead come together to celebrate De Dødes Dag.

Party with death

This year, we’re marking the occasion with a huge two-day party – a cumbión de muertos – where we honour death and celebrate life.

Programme 30 October: Cumbia Sound; 31 October: Trypical Cumbia

Practical information for both evenings

Doors open at 19:00; music from 20:00; standing concert. Feel free to come in a skeleton costume, a lucha mask or face paint!
