Babe Haven + Latter

Babe Haven bring metallic queer punk to BETA. Babe Haven are a queer punk band known for their riot grrrl attitude and a touch of nu-metal.

The band was formed in North Carolina by Lillie Della Penna and Naomi Poesel, and creates songs about strength and resistance, driven by raw aggression.

With the ambition of amplifying femme, queer and BIPOC voices, Babe Haven make every gig a space for radical inclusion and release.

Babe Haven have quickly built momentum with sold-out shows and a reputation as a major force on the modern punk scene.

They have shared the stage with acts including Mannequin Pussy, Otoboke Beaver, Soft Play, Teen Mortgage, Pinkshift and Pollyanna, and have performed at festivals such as L7's Fast and Frightening Takeover, Punk Rock Bowling and Jorts Fest.

Their second album, 'Nuisance,' marks a clear evolution in their sound, fusing nu-metal, thrash and punk into an intense, genre-defying style that establishes them as one of punk's most exciting new names.

Latter are a Chicago-based noise rock project, formed by chance in 2022 by Philadelphia-born sound artist Meredith Haines and drummer Jonathan Alvarado (Beach Bunny).

After a decade in Philadelphia's DIY scene, Haines had completely withdrawn from music—burnt out and building a new life as a sound artist and academic adviser.

A chance meeting with Alvarado led to weekly jam sessions, which quickly developed into a raw and distinctive collaboration.

Drawing on Haines' background in both sound art and contemporary dance, the band's performances blur the boundaries between noise rock, performance art and sound art.

They push beyond genres through an intense and unpredictable mix of tension and vulnerability.
