Agnes Obel takes over Operaen with a new album The internationally acclaimed Danish singer, songwriter and pianist Agnes Obel returns to Copenhagen.

On 3 October 2027, she takes over Operaen with her distinctive musical universe and new album The Meaning of Flowers in tow.

For more than 15 years, Agnes Obel has created a musical universe all of her own at the crossroads of alternative pop, neoclassical music, jazz and electronic soundscapes.

With platinum-selling albums such as Philharmonics and Aventine, as well as Citizen of Glass and Myopia, she has established herself as an internationally acclaimed songwriter, artist and producer.

On 18 September 2026, she will release her fifth studio album, The Meaning of Flowers -- her first album in six years.

The album marks a new chapter for Obel, whose music over the years has also featured in international productions such as The Last of Us, True Detective and Big Little Lies.

After a five-year break from performing, Agnes Obel returned in 2025 with, among other things, two sold-out concerts at DR Koncerthuset, where GAFFA awarded her five stars.

On 3 October 2027, she will perform at Operaen with music from The Meaning of Flowers and her critically acclaimed back catalogue.
