DESCRIPTION:What will we learn? For this special winter edition of Sønda
 gsskolen\, we will learn how to mend clothes by hand. Working with our ow
 n knitted garments\, we will explore how simple stitches can make a repai
 r.\n\nDuring the afternoon\, we will look at when and how something can b
 e mended\, and how three key components—a needle\, thread and a little 
 patience—can give clothing new life. We will try to understand mending 
 as more than a way to fix what is worn or damaged: rather\, as a way of c
 aring for what we already have and trying to enhance its value.\n\nWith g
 uidance from Ida Gry\, the woman behind Sting Service\, we will practise 
 mending. Please bring along something knitted: a well-worn woollen sweate
 r or a special pair of socks. You will have the chance to stitch on a pra
 ctice cloth first\, to see and feel what the stitches can do before movin
 g on to your own garment. A selection of soft yarns\, materials and tools
  will be available to use during the workshop.\n\nIda Gry will also share
  glimpses of her practice to open up a conversation about when and why we
  choose to mend\, and what happens when we take the needle into our own h
 ands. She will also share knowledge of materials and mending techniques\,
  as well as the cultural history of repair across time and continents.\n\
 nWho will we learn from? Ida Gry Jensen is a trained textile designer. Du
