DESCRIPTION:Work on Duruflés Requiem Opus 9 began in 1941 and was comple
 ted in 1947.\n\nInspired by the Catholic Mass for the Dead\, the work is 
 a traditional sacred requiem in the same tradition as Faurés Requiem.\n\
 nIts nine movements are based on liturgical texts in Latin and Greek\, wi
 th Pie Jesu\, featuring a mezzo-soprano solo\, at its centre.\n\nBoth con
 certs also include performances of Duruflé's four Gregorian motets a cap
 pella.\n\nKøbenhavns Bachkor consists of around 35 dedicated and experie
 nced amateur singers and is conducted by Christian Tophøj Buur.\n\nThe s
 oloists performing in the concert are Anna Carline Olesen\, mezzo-soprano
 \, Lauritz Jakob Thomsen\, baritone\, Isak Birkemose\, organist\, and Jul
 iane B.\n\nSoewarta\, cello.
