SUMMARY:Adoption: Det taler vi ikke om
LOCATION:Bibliotekshuset\, Danmark\, 2300 København
DESCRIPTION:Lars-Hussein\, who was adopted by Danish missionaries in 1967
\, had to make the journey from south to north. A journey that others dec
ided for him. And one that no one wanted to talk about—not even today.\
n\nAdoption is not a phenomenon that only emerged in the post-war period.
But globalisation set new standards for adoption. Whereas it had previou
sly taken place mainly locally\, large numbers of children were taken acr
oss national borders.\n\nFrom abroad to Denmark\, more than 22\,000 child
ren have been adopted. Those who are now adults have been active in the a
doption debate for several years. This has given the debate on adoption a
n absolutely indispensable and very important voice. Adoption has therefo
re received more attention in recent years than it did previously.\n\nIn
the talk\, Lars-Hussein will tell the story of his inner and outer journe
 y. Of the journey with an adoptive family\, from growing up in Rwanda to
his teenage years and adult life in Denmark.\n\nLars-Hussein has previous
ly given talks at Gilleleje Bibliotek\, Ugerløse Forsamlingshus and take
n part in TV Bella - København\, as well as other media. The ticket pric
 e includes something to drink.
