SUMMARY:10-Strings Duo
LOCATION:Musikskolen Københavns Kommune\, Staldgade 29\, 1699 København
DESCRIPTION:On 9 January 2027 at 19:30\, you can experience 10-Strings Du
 o performing at Københavns Musikskole\, Staldgade 29\, 1699 København V
.\n\n10-Strings Duo is an ensemble consisting of Arjun Ganguly (cello) an
d Nichlas Overgaard (guitar). They are named after Reginald Smith-Brindle
’s 10-String Music for cello and guitar. The duo was formed in 2023 dur
ing their studies\, and since then they have performed in both large and
small halls in Copenhagen and Berlin.\n\n10-String Duo has a repertoire s
panning three categories. Their classical repertoire includes original wo
rks for cello and guitar\, as well as their own arrangements of cello son
atas by\, among others\, Schubert\, Boccherini and Debussy. The duo parti
cularly enjoys playing contemporary music that pushes the boundaries of w
hat the two instruments can do. Arjun and Nichlas are very interested in
collaborating with composers\, and in 2025 Marianna Filippi composed a pi
ece for 10 Strings Duo\, which they performed at Statens Museum for Kunst
. Arjun and Nichlas also play popular and folk music\, which is particula
rly well suited to the instruments’ timbres. This includes music by Pia
zzolla\, Villa-Lobos and Duplessy.\n\nLook forward to an exciting and var
ied concert\, where the guitar’s and cello’s ten strings are put to e
very conceivable use.\n\n5 Stücke im Volkston\, Op. 102 Arranged for gui
