The Blue Planet
By the shores of Øresund, only 1 km from Copenhagen Airport, you find the new fantastic aquarium - Den Blå Planet (The Blue Planet/Denmark's Aquarium).
This is Northern Europe's largest aquarium. With their whirling architecture and unique location The Blue Planet have already become a landmark for Copenhagen and the Øresund Region.
Visit them for a wondrous journey below the surface. They are the home to more than 20 000 fish and ocean animals from all over the world which come from warm and cold, fresh- and saltwater.
Say hello to their hungry hammerheads, Europe's largest school of piranhas and their playful sea lions. Get lost in the Amazonas where anacondas roam and butterflies flutter and visit the Faroe Islands which is home to their large halibut. Or surround yourself with water in the ocean tunnel, where sharks and groupers swim around you.
Through their daily programs and events, the guests will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with many of the inhabitants at the aquarium. Special activities are arranged for the young and young at heart. Close encounters and interactions with animals give their guests an unforgettable experience while they also inform and teach about the rich, varied and colourful life that exists on our planet.
