Jazz in Copenhagen

The jazz thrives in Copenhagen, not only on large and renowned stages like Copenhagen JazzHouse, but also in variety of small jazz clubs where all styles of jazz are played: Dixieland, big band, blues, mainstream, or avant-garde. If you wander down the quarters an afternoon, you will probably hear some New Orleans' swinging rhythms of trumpets: Copenhagen has a long tradition of loving just this kind of jazz.

The mayor jazz event in Copenhagen is annual Copenhagen Jazz Festival, held in July. About 850 concerts, the most prominent jazz artists as guests - it´s a real feast for soul.

At Copenhagen JazzHouse you will meet other people loving jazz. In the basement the rhymes are pulsing and in the little bar you can have a refreshing drink. Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Stan Getz, Bud Powell, and many others had played here.
