Kunstmuseet Ordrupgaard
Ordrupgaard art museum houses one of Northern Europe's most important collections of French and Danish art from the 19th and early 20th century. This museum is today state-owned, but was created by Wilhelm Hansen, founder of a successful Danish insurance company. In 1918 he let his private collection of French Impressionists in his exclusive country house to be open to the public once a week.
Today the area of the museum is doubled by the extension designed by the world-renowned Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid.
