Dyrehaven, 15 minutes by S-train
(the local train - get off at Klampenborg) is one Copenhagen's
most beautiful parks. 1,000 acres has a variety of wildlife,
including stags and fallow deer. Horse and carriage rides
are available through the park. Dyrehaven is a former
royal hunting park. In 1670, the king Frederik III used
the park as a hunting retreat and so did kings following
him. You'll find a couple of restaurants in the park as
well as the oldest amusement park in the world "Bakken"
established in the same century as the royal park was
laid out. |
